The Plan provides the basic framework for the development of the single education reform and revenue initiative that’s needed on the 2012 ballot; it is wholly comprised of four broad, well-documented principles: (1) a student-centered finance system, (2) true transparency, (3) significant workforce reforms, and (4) new investments in education.

"I and/or our organization supports the proposed framework of The 2012 Kids Education Plan, which is calling for a student-centered finance system, true transparency, significant workforce reforms, and new investments in P-12 education through a statewide broad-based revenue source and lowering the voter threshold on local revenue. The components of this reform and revenue proposal provide the foundation on which to build a broad-based coalition in support of high-quality public schools for all children. This approach is the way to bring stakeholders together so California kids can win on the 2012 ballot—ensuring that schools receive additional funding they so desperately need along with long-overdue reforms at the state level."
